Becoming Anti-Racist
with Nova Reid

Some of the people who helped pave the way for change during the height of the Civil Rights Movement with Dr Martin Luther King Jr. were white allies. Know your power and your responsibility.
Effecting change, no matter how small can often feel overwhelming.
You can often feel frozen by fear into not taking action with anti-racism work.
These fears all have one thing in common: They lead to inaction and inaction leads to complicity and complicity causes harm and reproduces racism.

To help – afteresearching and observing human behaviour, I developed an online video and audio course with film, documentaries, a reading list, homework and reflection prompts throughout to support your learning.

Learn more about the power of anti-racism work from a trauma informed place, robustly, and sustainably
, in the comfort and non-judgemental space of your own environment. This course is designed so you can move at your own pace, and feel supported along the way.

You get out what you put in, anti-racism has never been more urgent. Let's get started, we've got important work to do.
While I had quite a bit of knowledge coming into this course, I learned a lot. I learned a lot about myself and valued the prompts and homework assignments.

The content and self-analysis I learned through this course will help me be a better teacher in all areas. I'm so thankful for this course and look forward to continuing my growth and journey through the supplemental materials that were provided

Nova is a phenomenal trainer. I thought I already did 'enough'. But I don't.

Since doing the course, I've been able to make sure that intersectionality is now in our Domestic Abuse training package to external professionals (i.e Police, private companies, charities) so that acknowledging bias, talking about racism, is a non negotiable part of our approach to teaching professionals about domestic abuse.
Denise, Domestic Abuse Sector
I’ve been teaching for 12 years and I can categorically say that your course has made me a better teacher.
— Rachel, History Teacher

It's really helped with questions my children have. I want to raise my children to see the truth. The parenting and racism section has been brilliant. And it will be ongoing work for me and my children.

— Penny, Mum of 2

I have sat down a number of times to write about this anti-racism course and the impact and I have no words. Words cannot explain the way this work has been part of a shift back to the essence of my being, of the I am and all that life shares beyond form. The process has been intense, but I am in awe of it. The healing is real and the layers are mind blowing.
